Since 1996, Trinity Rep's Theater Ambassadors program has brought together talented teens from communites across Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts, united by their common interest in theater. These students meet at Trinity Rep 2-3 times a month throughout the school year, seeing each mainstage production free of charge, and participating in discussions and master classes with theater staff.
Through these activites, the Ambassadors are introduced to the full range of skills, techniques, and ideas which are essential to professional theater. Interaction between students from different communities and between students and theater professionals helps them develop a richer understanding of theater arts. As "Ambassadors," the students will leave the program with enhanced skills as young theater artists and enthusiastic spokespeople for the performing arts in their own schools and communites. Most events are mandatory.

Quotes from Ambassadors: "Talking to Joe (Wilson Jr.) was a very enriching experience for me that has definitely opened my eyes to newer aspects of acting that I had not seen or heard of before. To hear such inspiring words about acting from such a fantastic actor was truly something I will never forget." Chris Hartford, Seekonk MA
"The ambassador program has definitely been a positive experience for me. It sparked my interest in set design, something I had never considered before. I also learned a lot about Trinity Rep, and because I had only ever experienced amateur theatre before this program, it was exciting for me to discover what was important to a professional theatre company. I feel I have come out of the program better acclimated to the theatre and its space and more aware of the hard work that goes into a professional production. Overall, I feel the program has been a vital addition to my cultural education". Emily Boksenbaum, Barrington High School
