Set Designer Mr. Lane is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He has a MFA degree in theater design from Northwestern University. In Chicago, Mr. Lane worked as a freelance designer and as the head of the design program at Barat College (now a satellite campus of Chicago’s De Paul University) he taught both costume and scenic design. In 1979 he moved to Providence and became Trinity Rep’s resident costume designer. In the past 28 seasons he has designed over 240 productions with this extraordinary company and has had the opportunity of collaborating with all of Trinity’s artistic directors: Adrian Hall, Anne Bogart, Richard Jenkins, Oskar Eustis, Amanda Dehnert and now with Curt Columbus.
