Young Actors Studio
Trinity Rep’s Young Actors Studio provides in-depth programming for students interested in all aspects of theater. General acting classes taught by our education staff take place over fall, winter and spring trimesters and focus on different acting techniques, playwriting, improvisation, and scene study. Year-round advanced classes are taught by members of our education staff, resident acting company and artistic staff. In the summer, we offer classes for students entering 1st grade through graduated seniors in our exceptional Young Actors Summer Institute.

TRIMESTER ACTING COURSES
Trinity Rep offers eight-week acting classes for students in grades K-12 at all experience levels. These courses are process-based, focusing on acting techniques through the lens of scene study, playwriting, collaborative creation or improvisation and are taught by our education staff. Each class culminates with an informal sharing for friends and family in our education classroom. Please Note: All students must submit a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold a spot in the class.
Shakespeare in the Stacks: A Midsummer Night's Dream
February 2 – June 1, 2017
Grades 3–6, Thursdays 4 -5:30pm, $250
Trinity Rep and the Providence Athenaeum invite students to participate in a 45-minute version of a Shakspeare classic...this year, it's A Midsummer Night's Dream! Directed by teaching artists from Trinity Rep’s staff, students learn to bring Shakespeare’s words to life before starring in public performances staged in the Athenaeum’s library stacks. Previous shows include Comedy of Errors, Romeo and Juliet,Twelfth Night, and Macbeth.

• Grades K-1: Tuesdays, 4–5pm, March 28 – May 23, 2017, $150
• Grades 2-3: Tuesdays, 5:15–6:15pm, March 28 – May 23, 2017, $150
• Grades 4-6: Thursdays, 4–5:30pm, March 30 – May 25, 2017, $225
• Grades 5-7: Saturdays, 1–2pm, April 1 – May 27, 2017, $150
• Grades 8-12: Saturdays, 2:30–4pm, April 1 – May 27, 2017, $225
YEAR-ROUND ADVANCED PROGRAMS
Classes meet throughout the year and are taught by members of our education department and resident acting company. Students receive complimentary tickets to Trinity Rep productions. Financial aid is available and payments can be made in installments. Permission from the instructor required. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with inquiries. The Young Actors Summer Institute (YASI) is the only summer theater program in New England for students to train at a Tony Award-winning theater with the best professional instructors from around the region. Budding theater artists learn from Trinity Rep's nationally renowned acting ensemble, resident artists, Brown/Trinity Rep MFA graduate students and local working artists. Customize your experience by choosing electives from playwriting, musical theater, and improvisation, to YouTube video making, Shakespeare and more! This month long program brings the fun, friends and energy of summer camp, while students take their skills to the next level with our exceptional curricula. YASI is a supportive, competition free zone that culminates in two public performances on the Trinity Rep stage.
