Trinity Rep is a powerful and unique place to create new work for American theater.

In 2006, Artistic Director Curt Columbus instituted an annual creative workshop at Trinity Rep to nurture and develop new ideas and artists. During this time playwrights with projects at various stages of development work with Trinity Rep actors and directors to bring their plays closer to being ready for a full production. Plays that emerged from this workshop process to premiere at Trinity Rep include:

The Prince of Providence by George Brant

The Song of Summer by Lauren Yee

Into the Breeches! by George Brant

Faithful Cheaters by Deborah Salem Smith

Arnie Louis and Bob by Katie Pearl

Melancholy Play: a chamber musical by Sarah Ruhl and Todd Almond

Veronica Meadows by Stephen Thorne

Social Creatures by Jackie Sibblies Drury
