Trinity Rep creates an encouraging environment with ample opportunities for young people of all ages and abilities.
Studio Classes
Trinity Rep’s Young Actors Studio provides in-depth programming for students interested in all aspects of theater. General acting classes take place over fall, winter, and spring trimesters and focus on different acting techniques, playwriting, improvisation, and scene study. Year-round advanced classes are taught by members of our education staff. In the summer, we offer classes for students entering 1st grade through graduated seniors in our exceptional Young Actors Summer Institute.
YASI (Young Actors Summer Institute) & SAS (Summer Actors Institute)
Our Young Actors Summer Institute (YASI) programs are some of the most comprehensive summer arts enrichment programs in New England. Led by experienced, enthusiastic local artists and educators, YASI can help students from kindergarten through recent high school graduates develop confidence, make new friends, and have plenty of summer fun. Welcoming students of all abilities, YASI teaches students about a variety of theater topics, so there’s something for everyone!
Write Here! Write Now!
This playwriting competition is open to high school students throughout New England. Students are encouraged to submit a 10-minute play by the spring deadline. Four winners are chosen, but all submissions receive written feedback.
TRAIN (Trinity Rep Active Imagination Network)
In partnership with a variety of service organizations throughout Rhode Island, we offer engaging and high-spirited curriculum, which includes acting and improvisation, in order to give children and adults with autism, cognitive, and psychiatric disabilities the tools they need to learn, communicate, and build self-esteem.
Trinity Zoo
Founded in 2007 by Trinity Rep resident acting company member Mauro Hantman, the Trinity Zoo is Trinity Rep’s premiere teen improv troupe and is now, under the direction of local actor and improviser, Dave Rabinow.
