Project Discovery has given more than 1.4 million students the chance to experience live professional theater at a discounted rate through student matinees. Through Project Discovery, we offer study guides, in-school workshops, and residencies for students, as well as professional development and preview nights for teachers.
Each season, we select an educational centerpiece show which is curriculum-tied as our Project Discovery Plus play. When a group purchases tickets to a Project Discovery performance, they receive a comprehensive written study guide PLUS up to three, free in-school workshops with their students. These workshops are led by our education and artistic staff as well as our actors and sometimes the creative team and can focus on themes, the production itself, Shakespearean language, acting and more. We also provide a video study guide to be shown in the classroom.

2020-21 School Year
Because gathering in-person for performances will not be safe or practical this year, Trinity Rep has delayed in-person shows until fall 2021. A Christmas Carol will be offered as a free, on-demand streaming video.
Additionally, other study guides will be available throughout the year for other topics to be announced soon.

Love, redemption, and revolution
Against the tumultuous backdrop of social and political upheaval emerges a passionate story of romance, sacrifice, and vengeance. This fresh new adaptation fuses the late 18th century with the contemporary, bringing the epic and universal face to face with the intensely intimate and personal. “The best of times and the worst of times” are brought to vivid and musical life on stage in this remarkable approach to the time-honored classic.

Culture, class, and the price of ambition
Lucia is understandably nervous. It’s day one at her first TV writing job. As a Mexican-born novelist, she may actually be the “diversity hire” she’s heard whispers about. Uncertain whether she can make a place for herself in cutthroat Hollywood, at least she feels less alone when she meets Abel, the Latino janitor. They form a bond and share stories, but it turns out that what Lucia gains from their friendship is not what Abel expects in this witty dramatic comedy about class, integrity, and culture.
