Creative classrooms is an arts integration program focused on building community and developing 21st century skills.

Arts Integration pairs the content and skills from an artistic form with those of a core subject(s). Emphasis is placed equally on the core subject and art form to allow accessible learning through multiple modalities. Trinity Rep teaching artists create arts-based workshops and residencies founded on common core standards and aligned with classroom curriculum. We strive to be a resource to the community and partner with Providence Public Schools. Through this partnership we meet and plan curriculum alongside teachers and administration. It is our goal to enhance the work of the teacher and assist the goals of the school.

Creative Classrooms began a pilot program with Asa Messer Elementary School in 2014, visiting their 1st and 2nd grade classrooms for a week-long residency. Through a generous grant from Hasbro Children’s Fund, Inc we have expanded this program to include quarterly week-long residences with all of the 1st and 2nd grade classrooms at Asa Messer. Beginning in 2016 this grant will also allow us to develop a new partnership with Carl G. Lauro Elementary school, reaching four 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms.
