Wensley Sarkar Bynoe (He/Him) was born in La Paz, Bolivia and lived in Asia, and Latin America before moving to the United States. Wensley moved to Rhode Island from New York during the COVID-19 pandemic to serve at the Community Action Partnership of Providence, supporting Providence residents in accessing rental assistance as well as nutritional and other basic needs during the pandemic. He then transitioned to the Center for Youth and Community Leadership in Education supporting the OurSchoolsPVD alliance in their campaign to bring a mandatory Ethnic Studies course to PPSD schools. In this role, Wensley collaborated with the Providence Teachers Union, youth organizations, and other aligned partners in Providence and RI more broadly.

Wensley believes in the power of narrative and stories to change our world and build connections. He is excited to expose more folks to the powerful stories being told at Trinity and to deepen the relationship between Trinity Rep and its surrounding communities. Wensley is looking forward to continuing to think about new and impactful ways for Trinity to live its values of serving as a public square, a space that encourages imagination, shares stories that connect us, and stimulates conversation, growth, relationships, and regenerative energy. He is looking forward to getting to know our state and all of you better.
