Love’s Labour’s Lost

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Ken-Matt Martin
Featuring members of the Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Acting class of 2019

“Let us once lose our oaths to find ourselves,
Or else we lose ourselves to keep our oaths.”

Love hits the men of Navarre at the worst time—they’ve all just sworn not to see women for the next 3 years to focus on studying, and now there are beautiful women just outside the castle. Disguises, mixed up letters, and savvy servants combine in hilarity to create one of Shakespeare’s wittiest comedies, Love’s Labour’s Lost. Chance the Rapper meets Shakespeare in this adaptation, bringing the Bard’s tale back to life and relevancy.
