We're excited to welcome back Wilkie Ferguson III to Trinity Rep as he prepares for his role in RAGTIME as Coalhouse Walker, Jr. Wilkie skillfully stepped into the role when company member Joe Wilson, Jr. had the opportunity to understudy Denzel Washington in Broadway's THE ICEMAN COMETH. Wilkie was last seen here in 2003 as David Bennett/Harold Ickes in ANNIE. Since then, he has been on Broadway in the casts of MOTOWN, THE GERSHWINS PORGY AND BESS, and WONDERLAND. Wilkie is also a talented musician and composer with his work being heard in PARROTHEADS, CONGO CABARET and his original musical TAKE ON ME which features orchestrations of '80s pop tunes. RAGTIME begins previews on April 26 and runs through May 27. Attention for the show is building daily as opening night gets closer and tickets are moving quickly. Director Curt Columbus' compelling re-imagining of the show is sure to deliver the iconic combination of moving music and a surprisingly powerful story that has made the musical a timeless treasure. ...
