OVERVIEW

Friday, November 22, 2019
Arrive in New York City and check into your room at The Kimpton Muse. We’ll gather for a welcome reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres before strolling over a few blocks to the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre for the steamy London production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, with Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw), and Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, Daredevil). This show has wowed the critics on both sides of the Atlantic and sheds new light on a great, twentieth century play.  After the performance, we’ll gather for a private discussion and wine reception.

Saturday, November 23, 2019
Enjoy the morning and afternoon at your leisure. In the evening, we’ll meet at the Laura Pels Theatre just across the street from the hotel for the Roundabout’s Scotland, PA. Based on the cult indie film (and Shakespeare’s Macbeth), this dark musical comedy features Wicked’s Ryan McCartan and Head Over Heels’ Taylor Iman Jones. We will be among the first audiences to see this world premiere work, which promises to be thrilling.  Post-show, we’ll gather for a wine reception and conversation.

Sunday, November 24, 2019
Morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, we’ll walk one block to the Barrymore Theatre for the matinee performance of The Inheritance, Part 1. Following the performance, we’ll have dinner as a group before heading back to the Barrymore to see Part 2 of The Inheritance. Mathew Lopez’s theatrical epic was a sold-out hit in London, and is already generating Tony buzz in New York.  The cast includes Rhode Island native Andrew Burnap, so we won’t want to miss this once-in-a-decade event. At the end of the evening, we’ll discuss the show over drinks.

Monday, November 25, 2019
After breakfast at your leisure, we’ll check out of the Muse and say our farewells.
