Daniel Begin

Daniel Begin (he/him/his) is a director, educator, facilitator, administrator, and writer from just outside of Boston, MA. Daniel is a firm believer that “good theatre makes good people” and his professional goal is to aid in the development of the future generation of good humans. Daniel attended Emerson College where he earned a B.A. in Theatre Education and Performance, and then Merrimack College where he received his Master of Education in Community Engagement with focuses in Social Justice Education and Nonprofit Leadership. His studies culminated in his Graduate Capstone Project, Through the Looking Glass: Shining Light on Queer Identities.  

Most recently, Daniel worked at the Huntington as the Manager of Education Operations. Daniel has also worked at the American Repertory Theater in the Education and Engagement Department, Sitka Fine Arts Camp as a faculty member, Greater Boston Stage Company in numerous administrative, teaching, and directing positions, and at the Rogers Center for the Arts as a Community Outreach Fellow.  

In addition, Daniel is a freelance director. Favorite directing credits include The Old Man and the Old Moon (Rogers Center for the Arts) and Peter and the Starcatcher (The Young Company at Greater Boston Stage Company). Favorite Assistant Directing Credits include Jack and the Giant (Greater Boston Stage Company) directed by Tyler Rosati and Dames at Sea (Greater Boston Stage Company) directed by Ilyse Robbins.  

When not working, Daniel enjoys long-distance running, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and reading! Favorite books currently are: Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune, and The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun.
