Shahrzad Mazaheri

Before moving to The United States, Shahrzad Mazaheri worked professionally as a costume designer in Iran for over seven years. She has been designing costumes for theater, opera, and musicals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the past three years. Trinity Rep: Sueño. Awards: 2021 Design Fellowship for Public Works Dallas. TxETA 2021 Scholarship, Bob Hope Scholarship for Excellence in Stage Design. She won the Maguire Ethics Essay Award 2021, writing about ethical issues of misrepresentation and cultural appropriation in movies and theater. Other: Shahrzad will graduate from Southern Methodist University with an MFA in stage design in May; she also holds an MFA in textile and fashion design.
