Trinity Rep is seeking a Soundboard Operator starting in August for the 2019-2020 season. Position includes assisting with the installation of sound systems and operation of the soundboard for main stage productions. Candidate should possess professional experience, and the ability to work well both independently and with others in a high paced environment. Must have the ability to work at heights and be able to lift at least 50lbs. Qlab, rigging and soldering a plus. The Brown/Trinty MFA Program is seeking a part-time, seasonal Technical Director (TD) for our upcoming 2019/20 season. The TD will oversee all scenic related technical operations associated with MFA productions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the successful realization of all designs.
  • Works with designers, directors, and the Production Manager to maximize financial resources.
  • Attends production meetings and assigned tech rehearsals.
  • Ensure sets are built and installed on schedule and within budget.
  • Maintains an orderly, organized shop, ensuring a safe work space for all staff and overhire.
  • Ensures the use of safe practices in all spaces and the safety of all scenic elements.
  • Collaborates with the production team.
  • Provides specifications on rigging methods as well as the location of scenic pick points.
  • Maintains clear and consistent communication with other production departments.
  • Brings group incentive and drive to each production.
  • Works towards supporting the professionalization of graduate directors and actors.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • A demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of artists, technicians, and administrators.
  • Embraces Brown/Trinity Rep’s strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Brown University/Trinity Repertory MFA Programs is looking for experienced, local, non-Equity Stage Managers for the productions during the 19-20 season. Individuals must be reliable and well-organized with a professional attitude. Must be able to work with a creative team, assist the director, keep a prompt book, run rehearsals & performances, and supervise actors. This is an excellent opportunity for early career Stage Managers to work in a professional and educational theater setting. Rehearsals are in the evenings and Saturdays during the day (Sunday’s day off). Paid position. Must be based in Providence area – housing and transportation not provided. Casting

The majority of Trinity Rep roles are cast from our resident acting company and the students in the Brown/Trinity MFA program. If a production calls for addition casting, audition notices will be posted here. We also hold open auditions once a year, usually in the summer, for both union and non-union actors. There are no auditions to join the acting company.

Script Submissions

Trinity Rep is committed to the development and production of new theater works. As part of that commitment, we seek to include at least one world premiere production in each season, and work throughout the year to develop new plays through readings and workshops. Our Mabel T. Woolley Literary Department reads and reviews hundreds of scripts, looking for new plays which support our aesthetic vision and our resident acting company.

Community Builders

Do you love Trinity Rep? Do you find yourself regularly talking about Trinity Rep’s productions and programs to your friends, family, and colleagues? Well, then we need YOU!

The Community Builders, a connectivity and outreach program for adults, makes you the ultimate theater insider. In return, we ask you to help spread the word about the great work we’re doing onstage and off.

As a Community Builder, you will:

  • Read all of the scripts for the season
  • Meet once as a group in the fall to discuss the scripts and identify one play with which you would like to especially work on building community connections.
  • Work with Trinity Rep’s Artistic Associate for Community Rebecca Noon to identify who you will reach out to and what you will attempt (eg, bring a specific group to: a performance or Context & Conversation)
  • Create a check-in schedule for you and Rebecca leading up to the show’s first rehearsal, which may involve email, phone, or in-person communication.

In return, you will be compensated with:

  • Early access to all scripts Access to all first rehearsals (which are always Tuesdays at 1:30 pm)
  • Insider information regarding the shows and the artistic teams involved. Input and influence on who accesses Trinity Rep and its programs
  • An end-of-season celebration, including any community connections we make throughout the season.
