It’s Trinity Rep’s mission to reinvent the “public square,” and engage our community in a continuing dialogue. As part of Trinity Rep’s commitment to making theater for and with our community, we host and participate in a variety of community events that are free and open to the public, throughout the year. You can learn more about the theater or a particular show, playwright, or time in history. Connect with new people or old friends you’ve seen on stage for years.

“Some of the best public conversations about the things that push and pull at Rhode Island, and beyond, happen at Trinity.” – The Providence Journal

Engagement Events

Trinity Rep’s schedule of free engagement events are designed to help audience members connect more deeply with the productions on stage and the people who create them. See the full list.

Community Builders

The Community Builders, a connectivity and outreach program for adults, makes you the ultimate theater insider. In return, we ask you to help spread the word about the great work we’re doing onstage and off. Learn more about how to become a Community Builder.

Community Partners

Trinity Rep is excited to partner with organizations from around the state, selected based on the needs of a particular production or project. Reaching well beyond traditional group sales relationships, these partnerships are designed to foster meaningful dialogue, increased audience accessibility, and often, long-lasting partnerships. The Ghostlight Project

On Thursday, January 19th, 2017, at 5:30 pm, Trinity Repertory Company participated in launching The Ghostlight Project. On the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, in each time zone across the country at 5:30 pm, theaters from Broadway to regional theaters to high schools hosted a gathering outside their doors to create a “light for challenging times ahead.” Trinity Rep’s light remains on and symbolizes the theater as a safe, brave space for all people. Trinity Rep is proud to be part of the Public Works National Affiliate Program, an initiative of the Public Theater.
