Theater for All

Trinity Rep offers a series of accessible programs and offerings to meet the needs of the theater’s diverse audience. Tickets for open captioned performances and sensory-friendly performances are available for each production every season, and even come in subscription packages.

Facility Accessibility

Assistive Listening Devices

Trinity Rep’s new Assistive Listening Devices are now available. There are two options: Wi-Fi and RF (Radio Frequency). The Wi-Fi option can be accessed via the Listen Everywhere app (available via Mac App Store or Google Play) on your smart phone and used with your own headset or hearing aids.

The RF system does not require the user to have their own device or headphones. You will pick up a pack and headphones from house services staff when you arrive at the theater. Induction neck loops are also available for those with T-Coil hearing aids.

Watch this short video for more information about both options.

Open Captioning

Trinity Rep offers open captioned performances for each of its six subscription series performances, plus A Christmas Carol. Tickets may be purchased with a subscription or for individual performances. Open Captioning is live text displayed simultaneously to the performance. As opposed to closed captioning, open captions do not require the user to have any special equipment for viewing the text and are always “open” to anyone. Get the dates of all Open Caption performances here.

Sensory-Friendly Performances

Each production has at least one Sensory-Friendly performance. Click here to learn more.

Wheelchair Accessibility/Elevators

The theater is fully wheelchair accessible, with elevator services to the Chace Theater on the second floor. Please see a house services staff member for assistance.

Read our accessible seating policy.
