Theater for All
Trinity Rep offers a series of accessible programs and offerings to meet the needs of the theater’s diverse audience. Tickets for open captioned performances and sensory-friendly performances are available for each production every season, and even come in subscription packages.
Assistive Listening Devices
We have an infrared system made by Listen Technologies. The units come in two type: stethoscope (with ear pieces attached to the unit) and lanyard (worn around the neck with a set of headphones). We also have loops that can be plugged into the lanyards. The loop will transmit the audio feed to your hearing aid.
Both the stethoscope and lanyard units have volume control, so you can dictate how loud or soft the audio feed transmits throughout the performance. It is also important to make sure that the unit is not blocked by anything (a coat, scarf, etc.) because it will prevent the infrared signal from getting through. For more information, please ask the house manager on your next visit to the theater.
The theater is fully wheelchair accessible, with elevator services to the Chace Theater on the second floor. Please see a front of house staff member for assistance.
Support for Trinity Rep’s accessibility programs comes from the Ida Ballou Littlefield Memorial Fund and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
