Trinity Rep’s Young Actors Studio provides in-depth education for students interested in all aspects of theater!
General acting classes take place over fall, winter, and spring trimesters and focus on different acting techniques, playwriting, improvisation, and scene study. Year-round advanced classes are taught by members of our education staff.
Financial Aid
Please fill out the Financial Aid Application before registering for a class.
Once your application is processed, you will receive a discount code to use at registration. Allow 10 business days for processing.
If you register for a class without your discount code, we will need to cancel your original registration and will not be able to refund credit card fees. You will then need to re-register for the class using your discount code to receive the financial aid.
Financial aid is need-based only, and applicants must fill out the form and complete a personal statement to be considered. Payment plans are also available. Email education@trinityrep.com with all inquiries.

All Levels Acting Studio Classes
Trinity Rep offers acting classes for students in grades K-12 at all experience levels. These courses are process-based, focusing on acting techniques through the lens of scene study, playwriting, collaborative creation, and/or improvisation.
Registration for these courses will open later this summer!
Year-Round Advanced Courses
Year-round advanced courses meet throughout the school year. Each class has 24 meetings total ranging from September 2023 to May 2024. Each participant will also receive a free ticket to a designated evening performance of each Trinity Rep mainstage show. Financial aid is available and payments can be made in installments.
Important Note: To enroll in an advanced course, permission from the course instructor is required. Students must have a prior history with Trinity Rep classes or summer programs. Email education@trinityrep.com with inquiries.
Youth Company
Grades 10 – 12
Begins September 30, 2024
Led by Daniel Begin
$200 – $800 (sliding scale)
Trinity Rep has long committed to hosting a resident company of actors, strengthening the bond between performers and the community. The Youth Company allows high school-aged actors to experience that same special connection.
In the fall, students will take advanced workshops with industry professionals, expanding their craft, and forming new connections. Students will read and discuss four plays selected by teachers.
As an ensemble, students will choose one of the four plays to produce as a full production. The fall semester will culminate in auditions for roles and interviews for off-stage positions (directing, stage management, etc.) in the ensemble-selected play.
Students will rehearse the selected play as an ensemble throughout the winter and spring, culminating in a public performance on Monday May 19, 2025, at 7:00 pm.

Application Deadline: Sunday August 11 at 11:59 pm. We will review applications on a rolling basis. Please note that this program accepts a maximum of 12 students.
Youth Company will meet after school for two hours on Mondays in the fall.
Youth Company rehearsal for the ensemble show will meet for three hours on Mondays in the winter and spring. There will be additional rehearsals on Wednesday afternoons, starting on April 30 to prepare for the show.

The Theater Explosion!
Grades 8 – 9
Led by Jordan Butterfield

In this explosive course, young artists get a full look into the world of theater. They’ll study topics ranging from playwriting, acting methods, musical theater, improv, audition, techniques, scene study, and more! This course also has a special emphasis on contemporary works by BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and female playwrights.

Junior Ensemble
Grades 5 – 7
Led by Emma Becker

The Junior Ensemble builds foundational performance skills in exciting ways! Students will learn how improv addresses the fundamentals of acting. They will then carry those skills into a one-act play. The Junior Ensemble members will also create short monologues in response to the one-act play, bringing their own perspectives to the work.
